I was visiting the family and playing a blues fest last week so much of the work I wanted to get on with has ground to a halt. I finally sat down in front of my half finished painting Monday morning and then received a call with more work so can't complain!
However I can now post my latest editorial commission, the article was about leading clever people and the various personalities and skills you will have to deal with successfully.
After lots of revised roughs we finally settled on centaurs with over-sized craniums pulling a nerdy managing director on a chariot in different directions. This was to fit a double page spread.
Some more news: I SOLD A BINGLEY SECRET AT THE WEEKEND!!!! One down five more to go ;-)
Hi Chris, saw your work in 'Managemant Today' and found your blog from there. Glad I did, some really nice work here, love the diver in the bath.
Out of interest, how long did you have to work on the MT chariot spread? Anything involving horses would take me a year.
Hi Leighton, thank you very much :-). MT have been really good to me.
The painting itself took about three very long days but I did sketch out lots of roughs first for the development process. Horses can be a killer, fortunately I have a book full of horsey photos.
I've just had a look at your storyboard work - congrats on the first prize, its a great piece! I saw some original storyboards in Pinewood Studios last year and let me say, you're on a par with them.
Thanks for taking a look at my storyboards, and for the favourable comparison with the guys at Pinewood. I'll be looking out for more of your work in print - I'm sure I'll be seeing a lot more of it.
Awesome work on here, great to see what you've been up to! Keep it coming!
Hope to catch you again sometime, probably when i next run out of paint! ;)
Hi Jenny, thanks! It was good to see you - hope the open studios went well? Suzanne said she saw you :-)
