Mad March Morning Hare

I always enjoy taking on private commissions, not just because I get paid, but I can also develop my brush and colour techniques. You tend to end up drawing things that you wouldn't normally consider - which can only help in the long run.

The commission itself was to produce a 'Hare in a field.' Simple enough really. I did contemplate a view point underneath the animal, however it might not have been fitting for it's final hanging place.

Detail of 'A Sea Of Ideas'

A little detail for you.

So far I have used it on postcards (by splitting it into four), business cards, flyers and a flash animation. The concept behind the work is quite loose. It could be seen as celebrating the wildlife and beauty of the North Sea, or as a warning as to what could be endangered with the metaphorical sink plug on the far right. Although if I'm really honest most of it was just an exercise in letting my imagination wander or should it be sail?
